According to Sahara Reporters, the former governor had turned  himself in today, June 1, with the expectation that he will be released in time to attend a rally organised by his supporters in Yola, but EFCC officials have continued interrogating him.
A source within the EFCC, who spoke with SaharaReporters, said the former governor stole billions of naira from his state and then escaped to the UK, where he remained until last week.
The impeached governor just returned to the country on Saturday, May 30, after he was forced to flee when the anti-corruption agency declared him wanted. An unnamed political aide of the ex-governor, said Nyako made the decision to return following the swearing-in of the new President, Muhammadu Buhari.
